Speedy’s takes on Trellis Bay clean-up ahead of new tourist season
Sources indicated that the clean-up exercise was undertaken by the Speedy’s Ferry Service and its personnel who removed the unsightly garbage and left the area in a pristine state.
Ms Corine E. George of the company in an invited comment said, “I want to let you know that Speedy's team takes pride in their work and believes that persons traveling to the sister islands should traverse a clean and welcoming area at Trellis Bay.”
Many tourists and residents who used the ferry service at Trellis Bay have previously complained about the unsightly garbage situation in the area.
Ms George added that the cleanup is part of a company initiative to show Speedy’s care about what people say regarding the ports they operate, along with showing care for the environment.
The cleanup was fully executed with ‘Speedys love’ Ms George further detailed.

Very good initiative Speedy's
It is incredible that government after government has taken no interesting in these same issues over so many decades. We are a tourist economy! Clean the damn place up! I hate giving excuses to guests. And it reinforces the pervasive prejudice that the 'Caribbean natives are friendly but incompetent'! Why would we do that to them, and ourselves?
And we have youth growing with a loose, don't-care attitude! There's no civic pride! Because there are zero efforts to remind them they are part of a bigger 'we', and not just a 'me, me me'!
Shame on you Marlon.
Government should a) protect and provide safety and security for residents, b) provide structure, maintain order and stability ,c) provide economic security, d) provide basic non-excludable and non-rival services, e) provide assistance., etc.
