Education ministry committed to inclusive education- Mrs Afiya S. Smith

Highlighting the broader impact of inclusivity, Hon de Castro remarked, “Each learner is a vital thread in the fabric of our schools, contributing unique strengths and perspectives that enrich us all.”

Meanwhile, Education Officer for Special Education, Mrs. Afiya S. Smith, sought to reinforce the ministry's commitment to inclusive education, stating, “Inclusion should be everyone’s business because every child has the ability to learn regardless of their abilities or disabilities. My focus is on developing training for teachers and parents while engaging stakeholders to ensure we bring out the best in our students. What matters is providing students with the tools they need to become an equal and equitable part of our education system.”

The day’s observance is slated to culminate with the annual Family Fun Night, hosted at the Cedar International School Grounds from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM an event that promises a vibrant evening of fun and networking for children with disabilities and their families, offering a space for celebration and connection.
