“Somebody loves you!’ Reformed ex-inmate brings hope to prisoners
Using his turn at the microphone during the ongoing evangelical services at HMP in Balsam Ghut last night, August 11, 2020, Lettsome said he is no stranger to the struggles at the prison.
He said: “I’ve been in the struggle, I have been behind bars, and somebody give me a chance.”
“Days I wake up tears in my eyes, I lose my mother, lose my family, but somebody kept me together. I bring a little hope to you all, tell all you don’t care what happens, hold on, don’t give in, hold on! Because somebody loves you. Somebody cares a lot about you, when the rest of the world walk away, that person will come and take care of you,” he stated.
Lettsome was one of the speakers of the one-week nightly services which comes to an end on Friday, August 14, 2020.
Prove society wrong!
Meanwhile, Pastor at the Agape Total Life Centre, Dr Lucia C. Woods also ministered to the prisoners.
“Many of you in here are gifted, talented, but instead of using your talent for God, you use it for the power of darkness. Many of you have heard only the negative, many of you have heard that you will not amount to anything good, cursing you by saying all kinds of negative things.
"You don’t have to follow the negative, come up higher than you are because God has said you are a chosen generation. You can prove that you are not what society says!” she exhorted.
Apart from preaching, Pastor Woods prayed for the inmates and the management of HMP.
The theme of the evangelical services is: "Salvation from darkness to light, are you ready for what comes next?'

Only God can help us when everyone else turn their backs on you.
Hope some of the inmates took that service serious.
