‘Some Ministers’ answers were embarrassing’ – PEP’s Julia Christopher
She was speaking on PEP’s radio show heard on Monday February 23, 2015 on ZBVI 780 AM between the hours of 8:00 and 9:00 PM.
“One point that I would like to make…it is that the answers that are given in the House of Assembly…I really believe that the Ministers should take the answering of these questions very seriously,” she said.
“I was very surprised by some of the answers that I heard…all of them were not bad but some of them were totally [bad]. I wasn’t happy and as a Virgin Islander I was totally embarrassed because I feel that the people have a right to know…the public has a right to know,” she said.
“I wasn’t there personally and I cannot go into the House and ask these questions, so I am glad when someone asks a question on my behalf as a Virgin Islander and I would like to hear the answers…proper answers,” she stressed.
President of PEP Natalio D. Wheatley aka Sowande Uhuru chimed in at this point, saying that sometimes egos get into the way of proper answers on the part of the Government Ministers.
“The representatives are not asking of themselves…I think sometimes egos get involved and you think the Opposition member wants to trip you up so you’re not going to give him a straight answer. But it is not for the Opposition member; it is for the people, and if you’re doing what you are supposed to be doing then there is no need for any secrecy,” said Wheatley.
Over 100 questions by the Opposition were slated to be asked and answered at the sitting of February 12, 2015 but the Government moved a motion to shift the question and answer period to the end of the sitting and because of the time it took to get through the other Government business, questions and answers had to be left for the continuation of the sitting on February 17, 2015.

You may have some good points, however they are meaningless unless you give the "people/public " some examples of the bad answers as stated in your blog.
and paid it off in two years, he got the balls to call them down.
After his blunder with a 2 million dollar bridge end up costing
10 million dollars, do he really think people will forget these
things.
The seasoned politians just dont get it that people are NO longer
stupid.
Answers can be incomplete, inappropriate, difficult to understand and so forth.
Accusations with no specifics against person(s) is bad behaviour.
So Ms Christopher, you are behaving badly .
Your purpose and intentions, if in fact you are seeking political office would be appropriate behaviour.
So move on? why can't they move on from the cruise ship s..t when the project is moving? It's move on when it comes to PEP and VIP but keep on, when it comes to NDP? Yo all too damn one sided.
