Some 1000 meals distributed in Districts 7 & 8 during holidays
“We recognise that the holiday season is about generosity and the spirit of giving and optimism and we wanted to not only provide for those families, but to also provide hope, especially to those families with children as they are being molded to become the future leaders of our Territory,” the Representative for the Eighth District said in a press release today, January 4, 2021.
According to the press release, Honourable Penn and the Eighth District Committee collaborated with several churches in the district for their holiday season initiative ‘Merry Meal To-Go’ food drive providing meals consisting of fish, meatloaf, ham, chicken, turkey, soups and salad, along with a variety of sides, treats and beverages.
The Eighth District Representative, according to the release, expressed his gratitude to the members of the Seventh Day Adventist Churches, Church of God of Prophecy Long Look, Church of God of Prophecy East End, and Church of God of Holiness East End who volunteered their time to assist with the food preparation for such a worthy cause.
Business community pitched in
The Representative for the Eighth District also partnered with several other giving establishments in the Territory to support those in need namely; OneMart, Nagico Insurances BVI, KNK Poultry Farm, E & M Mini Mart and Frozen Imports.
“We are grateful for the business community who contributed to this initiative as their generosity will greatly impact the lives of those in need and is an effective way to help build a stronger community,” Hon Penn said of the partnerships.
Adding, “It is through their kind contributions that our efforts were realised to ensure that the families and individuals, in districts seven and eight, who are most affected by the effects of COVID-19 were the prime recipients of the food drive during the holiday season,” Hon Penn concluded.
Successful initiative
The Merry Meal To-Go food distribution during the Christmas holidays was a success, drawing a huge turnout. Recognising the significant number of persons in need, the New Year 2021 saw another round of food distribution in the district, totaling three separate events.
Recipients of the Merry Meal To-Go food distribution initiative are residents of the following areas: Fat Hog’s Bay, Belle Vue, Hope Hill, Manchester, Long Look, East End, Greenland and Parham Town.

Bribes are bad, including political bribes.
My mind is open. Give me what is mine, expecting no vote in return.

Merry go food is an embarrassment and an insult to Virgin Islanders. If Marlon can find 1,000 hungry people like he flyer say come if you need food Come election he must go!! If He 1,000 hungry people willing to line up for food in district 7 and 8 sad for Orlando smith, Kedrick pickering Marlon Penn and all them goons then bring down the districts to massive poverty. The NDP starve people while them fatten them pocket so long. Four more years ndp would have people you living in bahana hut. Even Haiti would be embarrassed to see how far the National Democratic Party take the BVI. What a @#*&g shameful gimmick on the BVI.
School children say you will learn. I have no time arguing with you about the motives of that clown call Marlon. Just keep out my district with them jokey sh** you hear.
watch here! lol! guess my vote aint needed.
Marlon f*t r@$$ is a big hypocrite. He use to complain about Myron and other at large in his district disrespected him. Now he has that little boy from the bank up and down with him in the 7th without the distract REPRESENTATIVE; our man Dr WHEATLEY.
The people rejected that kind of divisive politics in 2019, them better wheel and come again, just know when you play with fire you will get burn.
Stop allowing district representatives who were elected by the people, to be disrespected Marlon Penn!!! you have made me lost all confidence and respect in you. It is not right. NO ONE ELECTED THE BOY FROM FIRSTBANK.
MARLON YOU WRONG! Same thing you NDP was doing in the third district with Arron and you see what the results were..
We know it’s politics I want my plate but on a serious note smurf you wrong to dis Showda and up and down with Jokey Sh**
Since VIP got in they are no different to any other previous government. They invite reps to what they want. There is a group called EE/LL Heritage Committee that held several events in which both 7 and 8 Districts reps were present here in December. Many events over the years between D7 and D8 showed great unity. Many events both districts do not leave each other out. That is how D78 works. You VIP cronies just want to cause division.
VIP came caroling the week before The heritage committee had their own only because they wanted to be first. Did you know the D8 rep was not there, it was Wheatley so why is it a problem that Marlon share food for D7 and Wheatley not present.
D9 rep provided meals before and it was ok, D7 rep provided meals and it was ok
Half of you on here complaining were some very ones who would call and say you need food. Stop causing drama between the districts.
Ask Fraser Andrew Alvara and god bless her Delores
Marlon penn it has now rub off but your turn will come. It was a political scheme to promote their seventh d candidate the Lettsome boy
A Long-time ago in the Animal Kingdom, a sheep was passing and saw a lion crying inside a cage trapped and the lion begged the sheep to save him with a promise not to kill and eat it but the sheep refused. After much persuasion and for the sheep's gullibility it opened the cage for the lion.
Now the lion was very hungry having stayed in the cage for days without food. It quickly grabbed the sheep to kill and eat but the sheep reminded him of his promise. They were still there arguing when other animals came passing and they sought to know what happened. Both the lion and the sheep narrated their own side of the story but because of fear and in trying to gain Favour in the sight of the lion, all the animals took side with the lion except the Tortoise who claim not to understand the whole scenario.
Now the Tortoise asked the lion to show them where he was before the sheep rescued him, he pointed at the cage. He asked again, "were you inside or outside when the sheep arrived"? The lion said he was inside. The tortoise again said, "ok, enter let’s see how difficult it could be inside". The lion entered and the tortoise locked him back inside.
In amazement, the other animals asked tortoise "why" and he replied "if we allow him to eat the sheep today, he will still go hungry tomorrow and we don't know the next amongst us to be eaten tomorrow.
The Moral of this tale
*Don't support evil today because it doesn't affect you directly, tomorrow it could be your turn.
