WHITE BAY, Jost van Dyke, VI- Soggy Dollar Bar in Jost van Dyke has been ranked Number One on USA Today’s 10 Best Beach Bars in the Caribbean for 2025.

The list released on January 8, 2025, features the Best Caribbean Bars “for an unforgettable time”.

The publication set out to find the best spots for enjoying a drink “with your toes in the sand” by asking a panel of Caribbean travel experts to nominate their favourite beach bars throughout the region. Then, readers voted for their top picks to decide the winners.

Copping the number one spot, the publication describes Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost van Dyke as best known for “creating the Painkiller, a rum cocktail featuring cream of coconut, pineapple, orange juice, and fresh grated Grenadian nutmeg”.

Two more spots for VI bars

Another Jost van Dyke beach bar, Hendo's Hideout, came in at number 4 with its tropical cocktails and fresh seafood.

Assisting Hendo’s Hideout to a spot on the list is its use of local ingredients in its Caribbean menu and its signature Delirious Donkey cocktail made with citrus vodka, fresh lime, and ginger beer.

Number 5 on the list is Poor Man's Bar known as PMB, located on Virgin Gorda.

Described as a “fixture on the the Virgin Gorda party scene”, the bar is also known for its stellar Painkillers, as well as frozen margaritas, piña coladas, and other drinks.

Is this an ancestral Virgin Islander, owned facility?

If not, then, it should be listed in the news of where the owners are from: America, and not taking up spaces in Virgin Islander, owned, news sites!

We have enough of of ancestral Virgin Islander owned bars, here, that should get proper, news coverage!

    NOT THIS ONE!

AUSAR, stands, by the comments written!!!!!

It is perplexing why the BVI government permits property owners adjacent to public beaches to construct concrete villas and bars in such proximity to the bay. This practice not only compromises the integrity of the beach but also enables these establishments to restrict public access at their discretion. Furthermore, what rationale exists for allowing yachts to anchor so near the coastline at White Bay Beach? If the Government of the Virgin Islands has regulations governing the beaches of Beef Island, why are similar measures not enforced for other beaches within the territory?

why is a simple congratulations so so hard for some of you. It always have to boil down to who from here and who not from here. When something is recognized in the country in a positive way, let us see it as upliftment for the entire country. Who from here and who not from here got to work hard same way and do alot to grow their business and brand. Let us put away the badmind for 2025

it is the Guest that determines the experience, you are entitled to your opinino but not the facts , If the readers voted then thats their prefrence regardless of who owns an establishment. Too often in the BVI we see bias where non exiast and this is one reason why our customer servic is so poor. We see service from our prespective...i.e if WE think the service we gave is good then we think its good rather than what THE GUEST thinks. And when they say is horrible then we cry racism. We needa mindset reboot
