Skelton-Cline produces his list of 'good' female political candidates
“That’s the kind of person that I believe is worthy of consideration, serious consideration, in the next upcoming election. I believe that Perline Scatliffe is a good potential candidate, that meaningful consideration should be given to a person like her,” he said during the September 28, 2022, edition of his show on ZBVI 780 AM.
He further named Janice A. Stoutt and Arline T. Smith-Penn as other potential candidates for office, as well as former Fourth District candidate in the 2019 election, Ms Luce D. Hodge-Smith.
Skelton-Cline had previously named Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) Dame Janice M. George-Creque Pereira as a potential candidate for the office of Premier.
No conversations with Justice Pereira - Skelton-Cline
Skelton-Cline further detailed, “I have not had one single conversation with the Justice. I understand that she is scheduled to retire sometime this month from that post,” he said while indicating that he has no idea if Justice Pereira would have an interest in the job.
“This is the season for women and I am calling on you [women] to begin to roar not like a lion, like a lioness. We men have had this thing now for the last seven years,” he said.
He added that the men should now stand back and take on a supporting role to women in leadership positions.
Further, Skelton-Cline added that the women he named are good potential candidates.
He also noted that Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8), Hon Melvin M. Turnbull (R2) and Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) still have a bright future for leadership; however, he reiterated that women should come forward to give birth to a new democracy in the VI.

You need to smoke a lower grade of weed bro. What happened to your wife. She off the weed. Why didn’t you name her?
Include also Sharon Flax-Brutus, Sheila George. Lorna Smith would be the best female candidate for Premier.
It is not about likeability or popularity, it is about competence.
Perline is currently head of the Water & Sewerage Dept. Look at the performance there, that's what we want for the Territory? Claude is posturing and looking for new blood because he knows full well that the current lot are sick of him and won't give him any more contracts. He think he is slick but we won't be fooled. Go take a seat. You are the same one that said we should examine people's records when considering them for office. WSD is the WORST running govt department and you want us to elect that leader?
I heard that it has people working at W&S for well over 10 years and still not permanent and pensionable, and these are good workers. Where the hell we would be going with someone like that who cannot look out for the few people she has working with her. We cannot consider her for a larger portfolio.
In my humble opinion it has two fitting persons on that list, namely Mrs Penn and Mrs Smith. Try again Mr Skelton-Cline. I appreciate the suggestions.
where is cra*y cindy on his list?
And who is CS?
One wonders if these very decent and upstanding Ladies were even consulted prior to having their names and photos published. You can do better than this Mr. Skelton. If you cannot step forward on your own name and record then you're not positioned to speak for others....
CSC’s side chicks?
Mister your endorsement of any candidate is a death knell for their future in politics.
You are well aware of the stigma of corruption and the climate of distrust within the VI Government which your involvement has contributed. You are a loathsome blob of human protoplasm. Kindly dissipate silently.
Well you already know neither VIP, NDP nor UP will give you another contract, so you are already campaigning for your contract? Me son, get a life!

Say what you want, but if all types throwing in themselves we can think about others who apparently have more essence and motivation in the future of our Territory. We need People that have a strong Passion for their Country and not tactics for money and power.
