Six advances to 284 Excellence Film Competition finals
Miss Natalie O. Hodge, Commissioner of the BVITB & Film Commission said in an interview with Cathy O. Richars of JTV Channel 55 on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 19 entries, 10 film makers were able to submit their films by the deadline, with six selected for the finals.
International judges
The films range in various genres including horror, fantasy, sci-fi, romance, drama, documentaries, and for the first time a music video. All but one entrant is new to the competition including an entry from St. Thomas.
“We’re seeing a growth; we’re seeing new interests. Actually, some of the student film makers entered...that was really good to see,” Hodge said.
The six films have been submitted to the competition’s international judges who are a film commissioner from Pennsylvania, a Netflix Manager, BVIslanders Hollywood actors Sheldon A. Frett and Sophia MA Emberson-Bain and an audio engineer.
