Sistah Joyce threatens to sue BVI Platinum News if photo not removed!
The article in question is headlined ‘Committee wants Calypsonians to start paying to enter competition’.
In a live call in this morning 29, September 2014 on the popular Morning Ride Show with Paul ‘Gadiethz’ Peart, Sistah Joyce demanded that BVI Platinum remove her photo from the article and use a photo of Marvin 'MB" Blyden the Chairman of the Festival Committee as she does not want her name associated with anything to do with the Festival Committee.
She demanded that BVI Platinum News remove her photo immediately or else, “I will find some money to put a law suit on them and who it hurt it hurt.”
The article in question was taken from the 2013 BVI Festival and Fairs Committee Annual Report which was laid on the table of the House of Assembly on 25, September 2014 and now a public document.
As of post time the photo in question has not been removed from the pro government online news site.
When contacted by this news site Sistah Joyce said that if by the end of the day her photo is not removed from the BVI Platinum website she will find the money and sue them.
“People calling me whole morning…I don’t have anything to do with the Committee. Why do they have to use my photo?” she said.
“I am giving them until the end of the day to remove it or else I will proceed to sue them. How can they use my photo? People calling me and putting me in this confusion with this whole thing and I don’t know anything about it? They need to put up a picture of ‘MB’. I have my own thing to deal with,” she said.
“How they could put up a picture of me up there with who it hurt it hurt?” she asked. “When I give an interview with my views [on the matter] then you could put up any picture you want with me,” she said.
Contacted by Virgin Islands News Online, Peart gave an insight as to why he thought the site might have used her photograph.
“I said to her that because of her involvement as a calypsonian they might have chosen to use her picture. But her explanation is that she would rather have Mr Marvin ‘MB’ Blyden’s photograph seeing that he is the Chairman of the Festival and Fairs Committee,” he said.

Ayo still got that Jamaican causing problems in de country?
Marlon what ayo doing?
Under the picture it states Soca Monarch....however, she is the Calypso Moanrch. THey need to realize it is two different competitions. I would say the picture was simply used because she is the reigning calypsonian, so I would not make any call to this being political or bias. Just my two cents
She is a Calypsonian of which the article is about...She needs to hush and refrain from broadcasting her ignorance and embarrassing herself.
Soon to come, an article declaring that Calypsonians are as smart as carpenters and lawyers.
Truth be told, good Calypsonians think on their feet and are smarter than most,
but this article proves that there is an exception.
how to get in thing on news etc, this is not her first nor her last.
