Showtime's young members get ‘foot wetting’ experience in Miami
The band was in Miami for two days where they featured at the VI's Annual Picnic Reunion and Invasion Dance.
"The experience was really good especially for the young band members that we have with us now. They had their feet wet, got to see, feel and experience what it takes to be on the international scene,” said band leader Mr Ottley Hodge.
Since the splitting of the band there are only three older members. “That’s how the band will live forever, by having the new blood, by keep refreshing as we get older. The younger ones are being trained to take up the mantle.”
According to Mr Hodge, many persons who attended the two events were very impressed with their performance and have been encouraging them to make their presence felt more in the USA. “They had good things to say, they just loved us and we are in the process of taking the band to another level.”
meanwhile, the Christmas treat to the VI and the rest of the world from Showtime Band will be the availability of the local music via internet purchase. Hodge told Virgin Islands News Online that they recently signed a label with an international entity which would see their music being made available for sale on ITunes, Android/Google, among other popular internet markets.
“We will be launching our website in time for Christmas this year. Right now we are putting the final touches on it and will be launching with a bang,” noted Hodge.
And in the quest to make their presence felt more and increase the demand for international appearances, the band members are working on improving their advertising.
Meanwhile, Showtime will be back on the international scene this weekend when they travel to St Thomas, USVI on Saturday October 26, 2013. They will be performing at Club Blitz, along with Volume International.
