Several businesses closed due to bad weather conditions

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Several businesses have decided to remain closed today, Monday, November 11, 2024, due to the inclement weather that has affected the Virgin Islands, while others have opted for a late opening.

The Social Security Board and National Health Insurance offices, Digicel’s main office, Republic Bank and Aeropost in Purcell are some of the businesses closed today due to the weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Digicel’s retail stores, DHL BVI Fish Bay, Pet Planet VI, and Infinite Solutions have announced they will open from noon.

The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) has also notified the public that clinic services and outpatient appointments at the various facilities “may experience delays or cancellations” today.

The BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) notified that its ports and offices will be opened today.

Around 5:45 am, the Department of Disaster said there was a little over 3 inches of rain in the past 4 hours and that additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches was possible.
