Security cameras to be installed @ Tortola & VG dumpsites


The Department of Waste Management is accepting quotations for the supply and installation of 11 solar security, weatherproof, IP outdoor cameras and three indoor security IP cameras at the three locations.
The cameras are to be installed at the Pockwood Pond Incinerator, at the Sea Cow’s Bay Waste Oil Facility and at the Tortola Virgin Gorda dumpsites.
The security cameras, according to Government Information Service (GIS) should meet the following minimum specifications: One year maintenance; Connectivity – Wi-Fi or 4G; Video Quality – 2K; Video Capture Format – MP4; Power Source – Solar (applicable for outdoor); Night Vision capability; and Internal Memory Storage capability.
Quotations should be hand-delivered to the Department of Waste Management Offices located on the second floor of the Union Property Building adjacent to Happy Lion Restaurant on Tortola, no later than Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
Residents have also called for CCTV cameras at dumpsters across the territory to prevent irresponsible dumping.

Still need resources to hunt down the individuals and fine them.
The waste will still be an issue.
