Regional carrier Seaborne Airlines has officially launched service between San Juan and St Maarten.

St Maarten is the 19th airport Seaborne now services, part of a regional expansion for the company, which recently announced the relocation of its headquarters from St Croix in the United States Virgin Islands to San Juan. (That deal included the purchase of an equity stake in the company by the government of Puerto Rico).

The company is operating daily nonstop service between the two regional hubs; flights leave San Juan at 6:45 PM and 9:10 AM, departing from St Maarten at 7:45 PM and 8:00 AM.

“St Maarten is yet another exciting destination in the Caribbean that Seaborne is offering to our customers, as we build important trade and tourism links throughout the Caribbean,” said Seaborne President and CEO Gary Foss.

Seaborne also recently announced the addition of service from San Juan to Santo Domingo, which will begin April 15. That will be the company’s fourth destination in the Dominican Republic.

The service began operating on Monday.
