ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Many were wondering if the Binky vs Scoop After Jouvert Race would have come off after all the partying in the early morning hours of August 1, 2022; however, both of the big men showed up to the approximately 50m start line, much to the delight of a large crowd at Cool Spot on De Castro Street.

Both men, Omari Martin aka 'Binky' and Kyle J. Ricketts aka 'Scoop', had their supporters who converged in large numbers with cellphones and cameras in hand to catch the ‘big’ moment.

The race looked to be headed for a keenly contested affair, as both men enjoyed a good start and were matching strides for about 10 meters until Scoop found another gear that Binky had no answer for.

According to the organisers, there were prizes up for grabs in the race.

Good fun. But could not help but smile. I like both young men. On the serious end, I do hope one of the prizes (if any) was a gift coupon towards a diet plan. Jus saying. Happy and safe festival to all

Just want to say that young band came down the Road first has a very good sound, Just need more playing and tramping experience together. They need to stay together, stay humble, keep learning, stay with it, practice . Their future looks good for BVI music...

Ok, so what's so funny about seeing two people risk their lives to the delight of the crowd? This spells cardiac trouble.....

It was fun for the onlookers but a tragedy, health crisis for both Binky and Scoop. Instead of glamorizing their obesity, they should be encouraged to lose weight to improve their health, reducing the risk of a premature and preventable death.

Watching the video looks like the one in blue had a little practice before the race so it was fair

I did enjoy the race this morning......it shows 2 young men having fun while entertaining the world. I would like to challenge both Binky & Scoop to focus on their health. Join the gym, go on hikes, choose healthier food choices. Come back next jouvert on the A.O. Shirley track, slimmer and healthier for a more fair race overall!

Thanks for pointing the health issue out and it's the look of the majority of men in the BVI. NOT GOOD!

They did well. How many of us are not their size and can't run for one minute before we are tired like a horse. All of us need to exercise more and eat more healthy. Those guys did well for their size. Great spirit and great sportsmanship the crowd loved you all. At least many were able to release some stress in a good way. Big up to binky and scoops the festival had a place for people like you. In fact this use to be the old time days in picnics you brought back the culture good job folks.

How about having a "Biggest Loser Challenge" next year? Competition to see which one will lose the most weight by next year. Serious ting, no joke. Health is wealth. Do a weigh in first, then they can do a rematch race. Same place, same time, next year.

the FUNNIESTTTTT thing is some of yall loved ones are DYING right now of different health/dietary related illnesses, but yall don't have none of this ENERGY for them and their healths, but here come two BIG dudes, and yall can't stop commenting on their size, and poking fun, and showing "concern." PLEASE. If you mean well, approach them, and volunteer to train them or train with them. Otherwise leeeeeeeee da alone, and worry bout yourself.

I watched the race from all the different angles, and enjoyed seeing the bets and hype leading up to it. It's funny what brings the community together, but I'm glad that they were able to do that for this brief moment. Gonna go take me a lil walky walk tomorrow, and i might switch a lil gear like Scoop to get my heart rate up a lil bit.

Happy Emancipation people. Sorry for the encyclopedia.

How about some professional trainers and gyms offer these young men some asssitance…. that will be the bigger win! The race was quite amusing but very much fat shaming and unfortunately these young men fell into just for the clout.
