ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- He was just nine years of age when he started taking the path of his older sister, Ariel Mohamed, in organising fundraising activities as a student of Cedar International School.

Ethan Mohamed's first fundraising event resulted in him donating over $600.00 to the BVI Cancer Society back in 2019.

Today, at age 13, he remains on the path of a young philanthropist.

The BVI Cancer Society was recently presented with a cheque for $1,000.00, thanks to Ethan, his partnership with Nagico Insurances, and the participation of students at his school.

Wear Pink Day raises $352.00

“I raised this money by hosting a Wear Pink Day at my school. They had to donate two dollars, whoever wore pink, and we made three hundred and fifty-two dollars and we asked Nagico [Insurances] to double that.”

Ethan aimed to secure $1,000.00 to donate to the BVI Cancer Society and Nagico Insurances made it possible by more than doubling the amount raised.

“Actually, we more than matched it, because we love doing stuff for the BVI Cancer Society,” said NAGICO’s Assistant Manager for Sales and Retention, Ann Stacey Roberts.

President of the BVI Cancer Society Gloria A. Fahie said: “Ethan has been doing this from the time he was nine [years of age]. He followed in his sister’s footsteps as she too used to raise funds to donate to us. I am so pleased to see his commitment, no matter the amount, every dime we receive goes a very long way for cancer fights.”

Ms Fahie also expressed profound gratitude to Nagico Insurances for being a "forever partner" in the fight against all forms of cancers affecting persons in the territory.
