Sayied Scatliffe ordered to pay over $7K for vehicle damage
It was on December 7, 2014 when Seaman was driving from East End that he encountered a large truck which was at the time reversing onto the main road in the vicinity of Alphonso's parking lot in Fish Bay.
However, the court heard that it was not until Seaman was right up to the truck that he saw it and as a result there was a collision between the two vehicles, resulting in heavy damage to the smaller F-150.
“Nobody was guiding him,” said Seaman in reference to the truck and its driver. When I reach about six feet away from him then is when I saw him reversing but I did not have enough time and I collided with him,” said Seaman.
He said due to the damage to the truck, it had to be put out of commission and this caused the business to suffer as it needed transportation on a daily basis. He said the truck was deemed a total write off.
According to Seaman, it was only on May 27, 2016 that the company acquired a replacement truck.
“I am asking for the vehicle to be repaired or replaced,” Seaman said, adding that the defendant who did not appear in court, Sayied Scatliffe, made no attempt to settle the matter, neither was there any arrangement made to settle the matter with the owner of the truck.
Magistrate DaBreo then awarded compensation in the amount of $5,623 as cost of repairs, $2,116.80 as one month's loss of work/income, $140 for court costs and $750 as costs in the matter.

When you have different systems for different classes of people, then problems do not go addressed because those with influence in our society do not have any incentive to reform a system that is only unfair to others. We are dividing our society into unequal classes, and these divisions are not only tolerated but reinforced by our formal legal systems.
