Samuel & Cline ready to rule with “Winners”
And one such duo - Fransua Samuel and Jovan Cline with “Winners” - is looking for the support from voters and listeners to push their song into the Best Creative collaboration category.
Explaining the concept of the song, Samuel told Virgin Islands News Online that it’s a mixture of rap, hip hop and R&B that inspires listeners that the sky is the limit.
The song written by both young men, with Cline, 18, writing the bridge and chorus, is in the future present tense and focuses on the attainment of stardom despite the challenges confronted along the way.
“It’s a feel good song...you can even exercise to it. It’s just about the vibe and we are all winners,” Samuel, a 22 year-old lifeguard stated.
Asked how long it took to pen the lyrics, Cline revealed “not long”.
“We had an idea what we wanted to say. I would say about one to two hours,” the young man recalled.
In early January, the duo recorded “Winners” at Home Grown studio and since hitting the airwaves on ZROD a few days ago it has been receiving glowing reviews.
“Even if we don’t get a nomination, we will continue to make music together,” Cline added. The duo is producing their talent through Art Is My Outlet Nation – AIMON Production.
Fans can vote for “Winners” by texting winners 8677 to CCT from their CCT mobiles.
