Sahara dust to reduce VI air quality over the weekend – DDM

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Virgin Islands Department of Disaster Management in its weekend forecast from the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services today Saturday, July 20, 2024, has shared that relatively stable conditions will be maintained as a ridge restricts shower activity, however, air quality is expected to be reduced due to the presence of Saharan dust across the islands.

Weather today: Partly Cloudy skies with a 20 percent or slight chance of showers.

Weather tonight: Partly Cloudy skies with a 20 percent or slight chance of showers

Winds: East then becoming east-northeast at 15 to 31 km/h or 9 to 20 mph with possible higher gusts of 46 km/h or 29 mph.

Seas: 1.5 to 2.1 metres or 5 to 7 feet. Therefore a small craft advisory is in effect.

Sunrise tomorrow:  5:53 am.

Sahara Dust warnings 

For those with reparatory illnesses, the presence of Sahara dust means these persons should limit time outdoors, or avoid any outdoor activity with prolonged exertion at this time. Windows and doors should be kept closed as much as possible and face masks worn to filter out particles."

The Public Health division has previously warned that persons with medical conditions who are experiencing difficulties breathing are asked to consult their physician.

    Those should atleast provide some type of service or shelter for people with breathing issues, may of us the dust is still getting inside.

    @ really you need to use another name because your dumb. The dust is another depopulation method so they don't want to shelter anyone. When last you saw a blue sky. Pure pollution in the air . They warn people who have asthma which they also give people with all these chemicals. Depopulation at every angle for all the sheeps. Get ready for the next plandemic which is the digital beast system have you been paying attention to all the systems going down for day, no electricity,banks aren't working Wow. Really you're really blind
