Sahara Dust expected to reduce air quality over weekend until Tuesday- DDM

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) has advised that Sahara Dust is expected to reduce air quality over the weekend until Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

DDM issued the advisory on May 16, 2024.

It said excessive exposure to the dust can be harmful to respiratory health and that protection from excessive exposure is recommended.

DDM also said individuals with respiratory conditions and allergies should be very cautious during this time. “Seek medical assistance if any prolonged respiratory symptoms,” DDM advised.
