ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is alerting the public to the operation of a criminal gang known as ‘Money Boys’ (MB) on Tortola.

In a press release today, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the RVIPF said the gang consists of about 25 young men ranging in ages from 17 to 25 years old from various communities across the Territory.

Allegedly armed & dangerous

The RVIPF also revealed that members of Money Boys are “reportedly in possession of unlicenced firearms and have been linked to multiple violent incidents, including a shooting on Friday, November 8, 2024, in Long Bush, which resulted in life-threatening injuries to a male victim”.

Money Boys is also alleged to be involved in a range of other criminal activities including robberies, thefts, burglaries among other crimes.

Members of Money Boys frequent several areas across Tortola, including Purcell Estate, Free Bottom, Baughers Bay, Road Town, Huntums Ghut, Greenland, and Long Look.

Community cooperation needed

Meanwhile, Detective Chief Inspector Kenrick Davis of the RVIPF urged the members of the various communities to support the RVIPF’s efforts. “It is vital that we work together to remove this threat to peace and safety in our neighbourhoods. The safety of our young people and our community as a whole depends on everyone’s commitment to saying NO to violence and criminal behaviour.”

Over recent months, the RVIPF has intensified efforts to curb the gang’s activities. This has led to multiple arrests, firearm and ammunition seizures, and the recovery of stolen goods found within vehicles and addresses associated with gang members.

Despite the progress made in reducing the gang’s influence, the RVIPF revealed that certain members of MB have evaded detection, partly due to community members who may be complicit or passive in response to gang activity in their neighbourhoods.

Anyone who wishes to provide information about this matter can confidentially call the RVIPF’s Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS) or overseas call 1-284-800-8477.

    who vex, vex
when malone and frazer ran things the enforcement of the laws of our land were well executed: road blocks, stop and search

poor enforcement of laws will become harmful for the residents because the peaceful people will become vulnerable to criminals and that is Wrong

24 Square Mile and lawlessness out of control: high day and the criminal elements letting off gun shots

what will you do; simply out with your family minding your own business and your child end up in hospital or funeral home

25 is too many. They really do take us for fools because they know citizens has no means to protect themselves. Eventually law abiding people will take sense out of nonsense. Pass the cannabis law let the people grow their own and stop getting medicine from gun wielding criminals. If they want to go on a boat and ride with a helicopter on them let them. Police know 25 people are in the gang and know their age. We just going to allow them to operate????

Post up their names & petition the law makers to pass a law to round them up.

Benefiting from the crime so they don’t turned them in. On a serious note. Parents have a lot to blame for this type of behavior. A lot of parents see children with things they know they can’t afford and don’t question it. If parents begin to to in house raids they’re find a lot of evidence that their children are into nothing good. However when you have a mom and dad who’s nothing good; then can blame the child.

Having read that press release, it would seems like the police have a head start with information about M/Boys. And if that is the case, then get busy in doing whats needed to be done to remove them off the streets. Let the public see that you are doing something and they might be incline to assist
