RVIPF wants witnesses in Aladdin Jewellery Store robbery to come forward

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Following yesterday’s February 9, 2024, daring armed robbery at Aladdin Jewelry Store on Flemming Street, Road Town, Tortola, police are now calling on witnesses to come forward.

VINO reported that the gunmen executed the robbery just after 10:00 AM on the day in question.

It was reported that four armed masked individuals entered the store, removed a quantity of jewelry from the showcases, and fled the scene. The value of the stolen items is undetermined.

Police said despite reports of gunshots, it has been confirmed that no physical injuries occurred during or after the robbery and that RVIPF Criminal Investigations Department is actively pursuing various leads in their efforts to solve the case.

“The RVIPF is urging witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the robbery. Anyone who can provide details, no matter how seemingly insignificant, is encouraged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339. Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously through Crimestoppers at 800-8477.”

    Those some big guns. People would be scared to come forward. Maybe an anonymous tip line should be set up to protect the witness safety. I personally would be terrified.

      Believe it or not they soon find out, who they are.....worst case scenario.....they end up fighting against themselves for them same stolen items........Arabs praying......don't mess with them.

    Alot of those spanish girls working for them s****** saying they (s******) arranged this themselves as they have been conversing for months about moving off island. So this was a way to recuperate a bit of money from insurance. Girls saying not one of the owners of those stores in that line was in the shop at the time of the robbery which is very weird as atleast one guy is always left there at all times so for none to be there in no store is very weird indeed.

    This is road town. A main street. Stop the excuses. Police should have been stationed there and witness to it all even if they did not approach they should have been there to see and report.

    New Governor this is what we complain about. More police more, money to police, more foreign police and less protection. We are protected by the good will of the people not by those in charge of security.

    Gone are the days when police officers use to patról in town alot . No police cant stop a crime but atleast their presence needed. The police are hired to sit inside the station only that how i feel as a resident . Its a shame how the royal virgin island police force reach to like a wild wild west. You call for assistance they dont show up or if them do a hour after . In the bvi they hire anybody and not do back ground check . That force full of criminals themselves cant be trusted . More patról needed especially in road town. My question who is running the police force do he or she care one bit of the bvi ? I dont know when last i see police officer on foot in road town . That the city officers needed in rosd town . Are we hiring officers just to sit in office only ?

    RVIPF, what exactly you need these people to come forward for? Use your investigation skills and find that out yourself. I wasn't there and I already put that puzzle together that area has cameras all around check the footage and you will see what you need . Witness you are stupid for sending that video out on whats app you obviously don't care about yourself or the other people that were there with you. We are so eager to put everything on whatsapp that we forget to use our brains. Next time you're filming a crime mute the sound or shut up.

      Wat de police supposed to do? Most police are unarmed, these guys had smgs and clearly were willing to use them. Even if i was a police in the store i wouldve run and hide. This crime rate will only increase. Tortola is a 3rd world cowboy country and its 100 percent the fault of their own people

The point i was trying to make which you apparently missed was the police want witnesses to come forward and risk their safety. when a crime was committed in a place that is surrounded with cameras . what are they being paid for?     The C.O.P must be excited about this another reason for them to try and push their police act that will go against our constitutional rights. I still don't want you in ma house , car or on ma property without a warrant and i dont want to be searched without just cause. Back to the drawing board with that because we don't want it in its present state.
