RVIPF clamping down on unlicensed & uninsured motorists in December
It reminded that a person who operates a vehicle without the requisite qualifications specified under the Road Traffic Act Cap. 218 commits an offense and, if found, will be arrested, charged, and prosecuted for such acts.
The RVIPF in a press release today, December 8, 2023, said for the entire month of December it will pay special attention to motorists, particularly to large trucks, ATVs, and passenger buses now seen regularly violating the Road Traffic Act Cap 218.
RVIPF to take ‘robust actions’
“To ensure everyone's safety, Police will be taking robust actions against these infractions,” the RVIPF stated.
The press release stated that while the RVIPF is responsible for enforcing road traffic laws, its primary concern is the potential harm, injuries, or even fatalities resulting from uninspected and less-than-road-worthy vehicles on VI roads.
“In such circumstances, legal drivers may have no recourse for addressing injuries or repairing their vehicles in the absence of insurance coverage. The RVIPF is dedicated to creating safer roadways by ensuring every vehicle and driver fully complies with the law. We urge the community to play an active role in this endeavor.
“If you suspect someone is operating an unlicensed or uninsured vehicle, please report them to any police station or call the three-digit access number 311. Act responsibly and adhere to road regulations. Let's work together to promote safety and compliance on our roads,” the RVIPF stated.

Take out the trash/drain the swamp.
How about illegally parked vehicles blocking lanes of traffic, particularly the Ridge Road!!
How about the rest of the laws our "police" haven't been enforcing!!!
I want to knopw who decides which laws won't be enforced and by what process are they chosen!!
Seriously thou, please license and insure your vehicles. Avoid any and all unnecessary stress and problems for you and your loved ones also the financial burdens this could bring and possible loss of life. Be safe.
Essential skills like correct use of mirrors, parallel parking and overtaking don't form part the test. Indeed you fail the cone test if you use your mirrors, as my instructor told me (for real): 'Mirrors are for qualified drivers'. Drivers aren't required to demonstrate driving out of town on hills.
