PASEA ESTATE, Tortola, VI- As supermarkets across the Territory continue to be flooded with shoppers in response to the threat of the Novel Coronavirus, store workers have been kept busy stocking, restocking and sanitising around the clock in order to make the shopping experience a smooth and safe one.

RoadTown Wholesale Group of companies (RTW) has since moved to show its appreciation to its employees in a tangible way.

RTW announced on Monday, March 23, 2020 a one-time bonus for its over 400 employees, amounting to $500 for full time and $250 for part time employees.

Token of appreciation

In a  press release, Managing Director Guy Strickland said “Frontline, Administration and Supply Chain employees are working around the clock to keep our stores well stocked and sanitised, to keep our stores open for business and our customers well serviced while at the same time juggling family responsibilities that are even more challenging today with schools and daycares closed.”

Mr Strickland explained that the bonus will be paid to all employees hired before January 1, 2020 and will be paid on Friday, March 27, 2020.

“I am so proud of all 440 employees of RTW who have stepped up during these unprecedented times. We hope this token of appreciation will show our employees how much their efforts are appreciated as they continue to step up and serve our community,” Mr Strickland commented.

Action man takes care of his employees and do not use them to show off to the public. The public did not need to know this and if we knew it, it should have come from the employees and not the show off crew.

I am very happy for the workers, and concerned. Lines on the floor to keep people a distance away from each other, but the cashiers are breathing in every ones germs and touching dirty money, without masks or gloves Where is their protection?
