RTW Falcons beat Royal Knights to become 2024 Peter Haycraft T10 champs

GREENLAND, Tortola, VI- RTW Falcons preserved their unbeaten run in the Peter Haycraft T10 Cricket Tournament and, most importantly, beat Royal Knights in the final played at Greenland Playfield on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

The Falcons, thanks to a Man-of the Match performance from Morry M. Olliveirre, defeated Royal Knights by 12 runs.

Losing the toss but winning the game!

Sent to bat, the Falcons scored 121-4, with Damron Prince top scoring with 53 from 25 balls and Joel Williams (34 runs) and Austin McDowall (21 not out) making the most of their time at the crease.

There were two wickets each for Reno Mettleholzer and Kellon London.

Royal Knights were then restricted to 109-5, thanks to an impressive 2-over spell by Ollivierre, who ended with figures of 4-19.

Keion De Jesus’ 67 not out was not enough to see the Knights to victory as wickets clattered around him.

It was the first time in 8 years that RTW Falcons tasted silverware, making the victory even sweeter.

Third place game

In the battle for Third Place, the Vikings defeated the Cavaliers by 6 wickets.

Cavaliers, sent to bat made, 109 for 6 off 8.3 Overs. Vikings replied with 111-4 from 8.5 overs.

Cavalier’s Vishal Bharat struck an even 50 and Dhanpaul Chrisnanand scored 21 runs while Neil Niles and Jieunick Mingo had 2 wickets each bowling for Vikings.

Mingo then blasted 51 not out and Timothy Sookram supported with 36, as Vikings took Third Place honours.

Avishkar Sewkarran, 2-25 from 2 overs, was the only impactful bowler for the Cavaliers.
