Rotary Club Of Road Town’s Kiddies Fiesta set to make big splash
As part of the festivities, the club will distribute backpacks with school supplies to the first 400 children to register on the day of the event. Attractions include face painting, mascots, games, music, food, live performances and water rides never before seen in the Territory, including a 100ft long thriller.
Residents are assured of ample parking and security along with emergency services at the venue. Entrance to the event is free and the fun starts at 10 A.M. There will be registration areas set up to assist the first 400 children.
Newly installed President of the Rotary Club of Road Town, Nelcia St Jean, encourages residents to attend the event and enjoy the day’s activities which will be in keeping with this year’s Rotary International theme: ‘Rotary Serving Humanity’.
“Kiddies Fiesta is our first signature project of the new Rotary Year where we effectively demonstrate our commitment to serve the Virgin Islands by providing an avenue that brings our community together for wholesome fun. This is event is all about celebrating our freedom together as one family – one community,” St Jean stated.
Community Services Director, Joseph Ryan, is spearheading the project on behalf of the club and is very pleased with the partnerships cemented for the event. Community partners include, NAGICO Insurances, FLOW, Tortola Auto Group, Splash Zone, Ministry of Education and all other community clubs and organizations who will be assisting us on the day.
“We have a spectacular day of fun planned this year. I am encouraging parents to bring a change of clothing and towels, especially if their children plan to enjoy the water rides. We want everyone to be safe on the day and to just enjoy the festivities. I especially want to thank the entire Rotary family in the BVI for their support in ensuring the plans are in place," Ryan explained.
The Rotary Club of Road Town is a member of Rotary’s District 7020 which has adopted the theme, ‘Be The Change’.
During Kiddies Fiesta, the club will host a membership drive in keeping with Rotary Day activities ahead of Membership Month in August. The club will be encouraging residents to join the club and be the change in their community.
Kiddies Fiesta officially marks the beginning of the annual Emancipation Festival in the Virgin Islands and is the only dedicated outdoor event which provides a fun-filled platform for children to fully participate in the overall celebrations.
Kiddies Fiesta brings together families from across the Territory for a day of fun, games, live performances, food and music.
