The principal of the Althea Scatliffe Primary school congratulated her students on a job well done and also mentioned that some of the students from the winning troupe have since gone on to attend high school.
Charles Crane also congratulated the students and said that the Rotary Club is proud to be a part of such an event and looks forward to being involved again next year. He also thanked Digicel BVI for being a first-time sponsor and for providing prizes to troupe winners. “We wanted to do something different for the 20th year that we can build on for years to come,” said Charles Crane.
Digicel representative Jasmine Perez said she was proud to be a product of the Althea Scatliffe Primary School and was honored to hand over the prize.
This year celebrated 20 years since the first Kiddies Fiesta was introduced to the BVI though the effort of the Rotary Club of Road Town. Since then it has been a part of the festival activities and an event that children of the community eagerly anticipate.
Digicel BVI is a proud sponsor of the annual Kiddies Fiesta as well as many community-related projects. In addition to the desk top computer, Digicel BVI also donated mobile phones and credit to winners of this event. There is also one more computer that will be awarded to another primary school in the near future.
Digicel’s current theme is Be Extraordinary. Partnering with organizations such as the Rotary Club and positively influencing the community is the essence of what it means to Be Extraordinary. Digicel BVI is proud of being a part of events that mold, develop and/ or meets the needs of Extra Ordinary young persons in the territory.
