Road closed from Paraquita Bay Road to Hodges Creek until Feb 26

HODGE'S CREEK, Tortola, VI- The public is notified that the Paraquita Bay Road, from the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) to Hodges Creek, is closed to vehicular traffic until Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

According to a bulletin on the Government of the Virgin Islands' website, the closure is to facilitate concrete works on a segment of the roadway.

Motorists are asked to plan their routes accordingly.

The long-awaited road works from Hodges Creek to Paraquita Bay on Tortola began on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

It was since October 2023 that the contract for 3,813 linear feet of concrete roadway was awarded to Northam Construction Limited for a total of Two Million Three Hundred Eighty-Six Thousand Fifteen Dollars and Ninety-Nine Cents (US$2,386,015.99). 

The work was expected to be completed in six (6) months.

    Let us see if it will be ready in 3 days. NO WAY! Who are they kidding. I advise everyone to leave their home to work at least 1/2 hour earlier because of all the traffic going over the hill to get to town. No speeding or tailgating, but I know some idiots will do the opposite and cause a crash on the only road we have available.
