SAINT-DENIS, Paris- The British Virgin Island’s (BVI) Rikkoi A. R Braithwaite ran his way into the Men’s 100m Semis of the 2024 Paris Olympics with a qualifying time of 10.13 seconds coming in third in Round 1 Heat 6 at the Stade de France on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

This is Brathwaite’s Olympic debut and the BVI’s first male to advance to the 100m Semis at an Olympic Games. 

He will compete in the Men’s 100m Semi-Final 1 running in Lane 2 at 2:05 p.m. BVI time on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at the Stade de France. 

The current Olympic record holder for this event is Usain S. Bolt with 9.63 seconds which he ran at the 2012 London Olympics. 

Brathwaite is one of three BVI Olympians competing in Track and Field at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Adeajah T. Hodge will comepete in the Women's 200m Round 1 on Sunday, August 4, 2024 while Kyron A. McMaster will compete in the Men's 400M Round 1 on Monday, August 5, 2024. Both races will also take place at the Stade de France. 

The BVI's other Olympian sailor Thad A. Lettsome, who placed 2nd in the second day of racing in the Men's Dinghy ILCA7 on Friday, August 2, 2024.

    You can see he is putting in the work. He is obviously improving...Keep working bro. Put the time and effort in. Satisfy that you have done your best, no matter the results, you can be happy knowing you have done the best you can..
