Ricketts wins Beef Island Beach Breeze to virtually seal Trident Trust 5K Series title

LONG BAY, Beef Island, VI- Jermaine A. Ricketts was a clear winner in the Beef Island Beach Breeze on Saturday, April 13, 2024, and has virtually sealed the 2024 Trident Trust 5K Series based on winning 3 of the 5 races.

Ricketts completed the 5k run, which started on Long Bay Beach and headed close to the airport and back, in a time of 18:41.20.

His rival Julius Farley had to settle for second in a time of 19:15.13.

Mark Stephenson was third in 20:32.47.

Uncatchable ‘Kat’

Katrina Lindsay, who missed the Carrot Bay Classic on March 23, returned to win the ladies race with a time of 20:42.45.

Priya Mattu was the second female to cross the line, clocking 24:03.07.

Rosmond Johnson was third in 25:42.27.

70 runners and walkers took to the start line.

The next race of the series is the Paraquita Beast at HLSCC Campus on May 4, 2024.

The final race, on June 1, 2024, will also double as the 2024 National 5k Championship.
