Refs call game off in 3rd quarter between Mega Guns & Legs

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Whilst the Mega Guns did themselves no favours in the playoff defeat to the Legs, the Junior East Rockers overcame the Mavericks, 86-81 on Saturday July 29, 2017 in the BVI Basketball Federation (BVIBF) playoff at the Multi Purpose Sports Complex.

The referees in the Game between Mega Guns and the Legs called the game in the third quarter due to ungentlemanly behaviour from the Guns and Legs and the score at 76-51 went to the Legs.

Tje other games went on smoothly with Antwon Robinson top scoring with 21 points for the Rockers, whilst, Trent Herbert finished with 18 points and 12 Rebounds and Ronald Antione notched 17 points and six rebounds.  Ajai  Frett scored 10 points with six rebounds.

Noel McKelly was the leading scorer for the Mavericks with 35 points, 9 rebounds and six steals. Lekhoy Hughes hit 13 points and 12 rebounds and there was also 13 points from Kedrick Matthew.

And One completed a sweep of the Junior Mystics with a 65-51 win in game two, led by 15 points from Kemoi Walters, 13 points by Shadim Rubaine and 11 points, 9 rebounds from Dillon Etienne.

The Mystics top scorer was Demoi Bradley with 16 points, 7 rebounds and six steals, whilst Stephano Paul and Eliann O’Neal both hit 10 points and Kasean Wylie picked up 8 rebounds.

    Dem Mega Guns aint Mega at all. Team loaded with talent, but no chemistry or coaching, and a lot of ignorance to the game of Basketball. It is a shame to see Senior Players acting like fools. Oh what a shame. A team with such talent should ran over the Tired Legs with ease, but that's not the case if you with NO brains at all.

    No chemistry + No discipline = No ring.....Looking good on paper is one thing but playing like you look on the paper takes practice & discipline. Woulda love to see Mega win it all doe.#GrowUp&StopComplaining#

    The league needs to get referees who are not biased. How is it that the No1 was playing No2 in the first game playoff. When has this changed. This league is a bluff, poor management!
