ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Guilty as charged for having unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16 years, rape and child pornography, Raymond Harrison was today July 23, 2014 shackled and carted off to Her Majesty’s Prison Balsam Ghut where he will be spending 11 years.

The case was tried in-camera and the jury had found him guilty as charged on July 11, 2014.

Justice Vikki Ann-Ellis slapped Harrison with the sentence this morning when he appeared before her in the High Court.

She sentenced him to 11 years for rape, one year for the possession of child pornography and five years for unlawful intercourse with the underage girl. With the sentences running concurrently he will spend a total of 11 years in prison effective from March 2013.

Harrison is a Jamaican national who was residing on the Island of Anegada at the time he committed the criminal acts. He was represented by Attorney At Law Patrick Thompson as Senior Crown Counsel Valston Graham prosecuted for the Crown.
