Pure Playaz fightback to level C/Ship Series with Bayside Blazers
With vengeance, Pure Playaz took game two of the championships after Bayside Blazers drew first blood on Sunday, November 17, 2019, when they won game one.
Last night's game was tight and unpredictable with the Bayside Blazers leading in the first, second and third quarters, however, things took a turn in the fourth and final quarter as Pure Playaz outscored their opponents 26 points to the Blazers' 12 in that quarter, helping them to secure the win.
Speaking to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO), Assistant Coach for the Bayside Blazers, Mr Jason A. Edwin said, "Both teams played well offensively...both teams made shots, just that in the end, we didn't keep our composure."
Blazers fighting again!
According to Edwin, players on his team felt that they were 'wrongfully officiated,' and this he said resulted in a dip in performance but noted that the team should have remained on top of their stellar gameplay.
With the championships being 'best of three', he said the Bayside Blazers are focused and ready to take on tonight's November 23, 2019, challenge starting 8:00pm at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff's Bottom, Tortola.
At last night's game, Khalid S. Gerald out of Pure Playaz took top score with 37 points total, just one above Bayside Blazers' Aubrey S. Daniel who scored 36 points for his team.
