ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Head of the Governor’s Office, Ms Ginny Ferson OBE will be leading a special workshop, designed to assist potential applicants to the United Kingdom’s prestigious Chevening Scholarship.

The Chevening Scholarship offers full financial support for post-graduate scholars of any age to pursue any eligible Master’s Degrees at over 150 Universities across the United Kingdom.

Applications are now being taken for the 2025-26 Academic Year and the deadline to apply is November 5, 2024. Approximately 1500 awards are available globally for the 2025-26 Academic year, demonstrating the UK’s commitment to developing the leaders of tomorrow.

Chevening Scholarships are awarded to individuals from diverse backgrounds who can demonstrate they have the commitment and skills needed to become future leaders.

'Life-changing opportunity'

To maximise uptake of this opportunity, career diplomat and Head of the Governor’s Office, Ms Ginny Ferson OBE, will lead a special workshop on September 26, 2024, to support potential applicants with the process and answer questions, according to a press release from the Government Information Service (GIS) on September 19, 2024.

Commenting on the Chevening Scholarship and workshop, Ms Ferson said: “The Chevening Scholarship offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals not only to gain a Masters’ Degree at a world-leading UK University, but also to join a global network of leaders and influencers. Throughout my career, I have worked with many Chevening scholars across the world and I’m keen to share my experience with the next generation. This scholarship is a life-changing opportunity, and I hope to see as many applicants as possible from the Virgin Islands.”

The workshop will be a hybrid event held at the Governor’s Office, located at  Waterfront Drive, Road Town, Tortola from 12:30 P.M. – 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, with an option to join virtually if you cannot attend in person.
