LONDON, England, United Kingdom- Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley is currently in the United Kingdom (UK) for the Joint Ministerial Council (JMC), the first with the UK’s new Labour government.

Premier Wheatley has so far participated in Bilateral Meetings with OT Minister Hon Stephen J. Doughty MP, and a United Kingdom Overseas Territories Association (UKOTA) Political Counsel on Economic Diversification and Resilience. Today, Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 21, 2024, ministers are attending the JMC Plenary meetings.

Meeting the VI diaspora

While in the UK, Premier Wheatley met with Virgin Islanders living in the UK. He met them at BVI House in London where he listened to their hopes and ideas for the Territory’s future.

Premier Wheatley also attended a Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace with His Majesty King Charles III.

The Premier and his team will be in London until November 22, 2024. Deputy Premier and Minister for the Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) is acting Premier until Dr Wheatley’s return to the Territory.
