Premier calls for prayers for family of slain Kemo A. Lettsome
The Premier was at the time delivering remarks at a special Church Service and Declaration at the Road Town Methodist Church to mark the start of Senior Citizen’s Month.
“Last night we had a murder in the Long Look Community, which is very sad. I firstly want to acknowledge Mr Alcedo Lettsome who’s here… because it was his son who was murdered unfortunately."
“And I am going to ask for you to pray for Mr Lettsome as well as his mother Vanessa Smith and the members of the family and the Long Look Community," he added.
Lettsoms reportedly shot multiple times
Reports are that Lettsome was shot multiple times while in the vicinity of The Stickit around 6:30 PM.
Officials at the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force have confirmed the killing.
“Police can confirm the fatal wounding of a male following a shooting near the Stickette in Long Look this evening,” officials told the press early last evening.
It remains unclear who the assailant was or how many persons were involved in the shooting.
Our News Centre will bring more information as it becomes available.

It had something to do with the burning boats down West?
Already, one life is too may, but to date we have lost several lives, young men, and seems like nothing positive is being done to make a difference. It is amazing that Rankin and Collins have not advised putting up some cameras to curb these crimes.
Not too long ago I was watching a documentary from UK and saw the amazing way those cops apprehend criminals, sometimes even following them to their homes, because they were captured on camera. The kind of sophisticated system that those cops have. I doubt there are any unsolved crimes in UK.
Why do we spend so much money to hire UK cops, yet we have so many unsolved crimes. I wonder if dollar for dollar it would not serve us a world of good if we set up 5 cameras in key locations instead of hiring one UK cop. Salary for a UK cop is a recurring expense, while buying a couple CCT camera is a one time expense. Can somebody advise the Premier, Deputy Premiere, Governor, Deputy Governor, Top ranking Cop and his UK deputy? Somebody please. This is over due, too many lives are being lost in that Long Look. Please premier, this is your constituency if for nothing else. Please let us start with Long Look, East End, The entire east and then move on to other districts. Please Premier, this is my heartfelt plea. Let us install some cameras, and our prayers would be answered immediately. The answer to our prayers is "Set Up Some Camera's, Immediately". Thank you Lord.
Praying ?
Thats all you have to say, &*@.. get involved, try to fix something
Stay on island instead of going party with the King.
Your island is falling a part
ANYTHING ABOUT THE SET OF COLD BLOODED MURDERS THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON OR ON DRUGS / WHEN ANOTHER ONE HAPPENS , ONE OR TWO SAY THE SAME OLD SONG TO THE PEOPLE TO CREATE A FALSE IMPRESSION LIKE THEY SO CONCERNED AND THE NEXT DAY ITS BUSINESS AS USUAL / LIKE , HEY ITS ONLY ONE AH WEEK OR A MONTH , WE STILL GOING STRONG ???? WE GOT BVI LOVE ❤️ WE Ah~IGHT
THOUSANDS , BUT WE GOT THE DOLLARS , SO NO PROBLEM ) WE ARE SLOWLY DESTROYING OURSELVES AND ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A SCAPEGOAT OR SOME LAME EXCUSE TO BLAME SOMEONE OR SOMETHING ELSE , SO WHO'S FOOLING WHO ? ? ? ????
Illiteracy is more deadly than guns! It cannot be buried and forgotten.
Both are rampant in the youths of these BVI.
Not a good look and predicts a bleak future for these VI
Do better!
As usual they give us no info and expect the community to solve it. And for your information the police chief and governor and UK take it upon themselves as the upper class to be responsible for our security.
Yes, we need prayers. We also need Customs Officers to stop conspiring with these *&^%$ Ar***s who can bring in whatever the hell they want and officers turn a blind eye. You think its locals and the small time criminals responsible for the guns and illicit drugs passing ghrough the territory? Who think so are fools. Greed is causing many of the people charged with over sight to protect the territory and the people are lining their pockets, and the price is the blood of our young people. We need an independent squad to search those private planes when they come into TB Lettsome Airport, and those trailers coming into the port.
