The Premier was at the time delivering remarks at a special Church Service and Declaration at the Road Town Methodist Church to mark the start of Senior Citizen’s Month.

“Last night we had a murder in the Long Look Community, which is very sad. I firstly want to acknowledge Mr Alcedo Lettsome who’s here… because it was his son who was murdered unfortunately."

Lettsoms reportedly shot multiple times

MY dear Honorable Premier how many more lives do we have to loose in that Stickette before we decide to put up some Cameras?

Already, one life is too may, but to date we have lost several lives, young men, and seems like nothing positive is being done to make a difference. It is amazing that Rankin and Collins have not advised putting up some cameras to curb these crimes.

Not too long ago I was watching a documentary from UK and saw the amazing way those cops apprehend criminals, sometimes even following them to their homes, because they were captured on camera. The kind of sophisticated system that those cops have. I doubt there are any unsolved crimes in UK.

Why do we spend so much money to hire UK cops, yet we have so many unsolved crimes. I wonder if dollar for dollar it would not serve us a world of good if we set up 5 cameras in key locations instead of hiring one UK cop. Salary for a UK cop is a recurring expense, while buying a couple CCT camera is a one time expense. Can somebody advise the Premier, Deputy Premiere, Governor, Deputy Governor, Top ranking Cop and his UK deputy? Somebody please. This is over due, too many lives are being lost in that Long Look. Please premier, this is your constituency if for nothing else. Please let us start with Long Look, East End, The entire east and then move on to other districts. Please Premier, this is my heartfelt plea. Let us install some cameras, and our prayers would be answered immediately. The answer to our prayers is "Set Up Some Camera's, Immediately". Thank you Lord.

Prayer is a power energy which is often answered when asked. God answered according to HIS will. Some are frustrated and tired of gun violence and are advocating that thoughts and prayers are not enough. Violent crime, especially gun crime, is on the increase. Bareboaters, day trippers, overnight visitors, etc, are the not the only things coming into our once tranquil and beloved VI. Guns are also coming in and is menace, cutting short the life of too many out blood and treasure. The VI does not manufacture any guns. The guns coming into the VI are manufactured in the US. Guns are freely and easily available in the US and gun violence is an epidemic in the US. It is the wild, wild, Wild West. The guns coming into the BVI are coming in through the vast porous border, coupled with lack of surveillance, inspection, etc. The porous border needs to be sealed up. The territory must invest in sealing up the porous border to protect life, the economy, quality of life, etc. The border must protected from the sea, air, land, etc.

Illiteracy is more deadly than guns! It cannot be buried and forgotten.
Both are rampant in the youths of these BVI.
Not a good look and predicts a bleak future for these VI
        Do better!

"It remains unclear who the assailant was or how many persons were involved in the shooting."

As usual they give us no info and expect the community to solve it. And for your information the police chief and governor and UK take it upon themselves as the upper class to be responsible for our security.
  • WTF (02/05/2023, 10:36) Like (13) Dislike (0) Reply

Yes, we need prayers. We also need Customs Officers to stop conspiring with these *&^%$ Ar***s who can bring in whatever the hell they want and officers turn a blind eye. You think its locals and the small time criminals responsible for the guns and illicit drugs passing ghrough the territory? Who think so are fools. Greed is causing many of the people charged with over sight to protect the territory and the people are lining their pockets, and the price is the blood of our young people. We need an independent squad to search those private planes when they come into TB Lettsome Airport, and those trailers coming into the port.

THE GOVERNOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RVI-POLICE and also responsible for the prevention and detection of crime and the maintenance of public order. The Governor is the one who brings the UK officers. Other than vacation, bar hop, what improvement have they made to the police force in terms of solving crimes? Most of the police officers do not have any manners and treat the people poorly. You can't expect respect when you give none!
