Pre-Primary Sports a great success
The day was planned in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture and was the brain child of former Olympian Karl ‘Dub’ Scatliffe.
“It was great today and overwhelming to see the levels of competition and participation,” commented Scatliffe. “I briefed a lot of the schools in what to expect and how to best prepare the kids, but for some it was brand new and they came to see and left having thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
Scatliffe fully intends to make the event sustainable and also assist the schools in being able to prepare themselves.
“I will go to the schools and find out how we can best collaborate and attract the kids to want to be involved. It helps them across life with fitness and learning, so hopefully it will grow each year.”
Events held included Zig Zag through the Cones, Hurdle Sprints and Relays, Sprints, Lime on Bottle and Shuttle Relay with Obstacles.
All the equipment was Age Group Specific with soft hurdles especially creating lots of fun and excitement amongst the children, but also the teachers on hand.

We are not happy about this!.
What kind of arrangement was this? How much was the Department of Education involved?
I was told that a private person organized it. Was this self interest? The students should not have been removed form the Inter Primary School Sports.
This was a bad move.
