Describing the bridge project as ‘long overdue’, Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. FRENCHMAN’S CAY, VI- With funding requested in the 2020 Budget Estimates, a new bridge will be designed and built to link Frenchman’s Cay and West End, Tortola.

Preparatory works have already begun and the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities has hired Jaca Sierra out of Puerto Rico to conduct the geotechnical study/soil testing to determine what load/weight the ground can take before the designs for the new Frenchman's Cay Bridge are concluded.

Describing the bridge project as “long overdue”, Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1), stated on a Facebook post on October 23, 2019 that the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities has made submission in the 2020 budget cycle for the funding of a new bridge for the safety of all users.

“With the support of the Premier the Hon. Andrew A. Fahie & Minister Kye Rymer, & your entire government we are forging forward to ensure a safe and resilient road network through this project and the many others to come,” Hon Fahie wrote.

Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) in a statement to the House of Assembly on July 16, 2019, had informed the public of the project.

“Mr Speaker, my team has begun the preliminary works such as scheduling the Environmental Impact Study, the Geotechnical works and funding has been requested in the 2020 Budget Estimates exercise for project execution, while preparatory works have begun,” Hon Rymer had stated.

    You all just need to shut up!!!!! let them do the studies before one of you all get in a serious accident in that same bridge where it ca-lapse with you'll and ayo look to sue the government.
