Now that is the truth. These potholes are a danger to us. I don't understand how the politicians here drive on the same roads as we do and are not fed up with the nonsense. We are driving on obstacle courses that we are not trained on trying to stay alive and get home safely. It is getting worse every day.

Not everyone knows where all potholes are. If I do not frequent an area how would I know? I got into one near Fort Recovery on my way to west end on Sunday. I was driving normally and when I got to it I was too late to avoid it.

The abominable condition of our roads is a national disgrace and shameful. It is a shame on the whole territory, Premier, MCW, Director of Public works., etc. Failures all around. Designing, constructing, and maintaining roads is not rocket science but we behave like it is and has happen to poorly design, construct and maintain roads. We have accomplished the trifecta. Potholes are a function of poor road building and poor maintenance. The poor condition of our roads in addition to being a national disgrace and embarrassment come at high cost to motorists and pedestrians. Poor road conditions can contribute to accidents, increase vehicle owners operating costs, increase replacement cost, etc. Mr. Premier it is way past time to call time out, stop train, and knock some heads, making changes if necessary, etc. Public management is not for the weak of heart and for those always want to be loved and admired. What the hell are doing if we cannot even fix potholes? Geez som bred mehson. This is unforced error. Take some damn action!!! Get out air condition office and get in the trenches with the MCW and Public Works Director and set some reasonable timelines with a performance improvement plan(PIP) or else. Break out the big guava stick. The poor road conditions persist because they persist.

@Manjack, you are Frig.....mehson. I was going to relax for weekend just chillin with a bottle of well-chilled mauby and a big bowl of bullfoot soup with some well-kneaded dumpling. But my plans were derailed after reading your commentary on the accident which was allegedly caused by or contributed by a big pothole. Wow! You did not take no prisoners and left no stone unturned in criticizing the poor, deteriorated persisted condition of our roads. A ton of well deserved blows heap on the key players, ie, Premier, MCW, Director of Public Works.. Mehson look ah blow. But is all the blows going to move the improvement needle or it I say way things are. We should hope not . I’m back to my bullfoot and mauby before going for ride to the store dodging potholes like it is a new game. My poor vehicle crying out for help. Government due to its gross negligence should create a new monthly allocation for vehicle owners. The Frig.... out????????

@Manjack, these people, all of us, have no shame. How do I know. Well, if we had shame we would be doing something about the road problem. Instead, the problem persist for day after day, month after month and year after year. How important are roads to BVI residents, tourism industry, growth and development, land access? Why our road network go straight up, not in circular pattern as is the practice in other hilly terrain?

Don’t get angry when someone slap a LAWSUIT on the Government over the deplorable roads. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired with the potholes. HELL, THEY MAY AS WELL DIG UP ALL THE ROADS ON THE ISLAND AND GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DIRT ROADS.

You know what? That is a damn good idea. dig up all the roads and make them all dirt roads. There will be less road accidents and the speed demons will slow down.

It is clear Kye Rhymer only likes to take praise when things look good but blame others for his many failures like the roads, electricity, water, repairs to the complex, and sewage. Nothing under him functions well.

@ Pot hole plant a tree. I too have dropped down that hole repeatedly, that wasn't there some months ago. Now when I get to that location to go down I slow way up, and BAM, I still go down with a hard hit. This is so dangerous and fools keep speeding up that same little road causing a traffic jam, so they have to move back down a little so I can pass. What in the hell is going on here? Is the BVI trying to kill us?????

Or need new management what do you think the experience of tourist would be like when they go back home an post there experience

Public works need resources to work. Blame the ministry head aka the minister. He sits on the team that gives the final approval of all monies to be spent in the budget. The department gets what is approved.

All cars on landing in the BVI should have there odometer reset at 20 miles an hour. Also reset them when registering car. We will see how many accidents we have in the BVI, lol
