The result was win number seven on the bounce for the team, who also remain unbeaten this season, which means they are just seven points behind the league-leading Islanders with four games in hand.

Marvin Browne opened the scoring in just the second minute, the first of his brace, and the goals came in regular intervals from then on in. Jaadon Quashie added a quadruple, Adrian Padilla netted five and Bernard Cumberbatch a hat trick. Ikyjah Williams also scored and Positive didn’t help their own cause by having two players sent off as well as conceding an own goal.

“It was a good came to get the boys back together after such a long break, caused by international call ups,” commented Manager Jermain Abrams. “We are very satisfied with the performance, the way we moved the ball around, kept possession and stayed in control of the game. The players’ movement was good, and we adapted to some in-game adjustments despite being rusty and facing a determined Positive team. We have room to improve still, and we will see how the rest of the season goes one game at a time.”

VG United dismantle Old Madrid 14-0

Despite the huge win, VG Utd are not the league top scorers as that honour currently rests on the shoulders of Wolues FC, who courtesy of a 14-0 victory against Old Madrid FC, now have sixty-nine goals on the season compared to the sixty-eight netted by VG United.

“We haven't had many games lately,” stated Wolues player, Phil Nelson. “So it was good to get back out on the field. The game was comfortable throughout with the result never in doubt. We spread the field as much as possible with many chances coming through our wingers finding space and either scoring or supplying for the forwards. Looking at the schedule we have games most weeks now, we are hopeful we can get into a rhythm and go on a good run until the end of the season."

Lion Heart maul Panthers 10-0

Hugo Costa Liziario scored four times to take his tally to twenty, joint top of the goals scored table with Bishon Edwards, who tallied five goals in Lion Hearts' 10-0 win over Panthers FC.

That win puts Lion Heart on twenty points and level with Sugar Boys FC, with a game in hand, for the all-important fourth place and a spot for the post-season cup competition.

Islanders down One Love FC  2-0

Also at the weekend, the table-topping Islanders FC made it nine wins in a row with a 2-0 scoreline against One Love FC as both Antonio Rodney and Roger Noel were on the scoresheet.

“Going into the game we had an objective to gather three points, and we showed up to play football,” stated Coach Fitzroy Daley. “We sent out that message early and we created a lot of chances. This victory is a special one based on how the guys played together as a team, controlling the game by keeping possession of the ball and making it difficult for our opponents. They tried to shut down the way we played but couldn’t cope with the tactical adjustments we made, and it was a surprise we only converted two of the many goal-scoring opportunities we had. We are still building as a team though and just have to focus on the next assignment. Once we continue to play good football the results will come.”
