Portion of roads in Sea Cows Bay to get face lift!
Works have started on a portion of the roads in the Sea Cows Bay area on the main Island of Tortola from the small bridge adjacent to Ellis Thomas Downs to Palestina Estate.
The project started last week with first the scraping up and removal of the old asphalt in preparation of resurfacing works for new asphalt using the Public Works Department scraper.
As the project continues it will result in driving hazards, lots of dust, slow traffic flow and unstable and uneven road surface as drivers and pedestrians traverse the area.
No district will be left behind- VIP
In its commitment not to leave any district behind the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Government of Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) has not discriminated against any District represented by Opposition Members. Similar works are expected in Districts Two, Six and Eight.
Between 2011 and 2019 when the National Democratic Party (NDP) held power according to Third District Representative Hon Julian Fraser RA and former First District Representative Andrew A. Fahie, their districts were left behind with no works in those two districts. Both men were at the time members of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition.
Minister for Communications and Works Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) could not be reached for more details on the ongoing Sea Cows Bay Resurfacing Project.
