Police wrap up East End ‘Christmas in a Bow’ festive event

EAST END, Tortola, VI – The East End division of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, wrapped up its ‘Christmas in a bow’ district seven community event.

Police said the event was made possible through community and corporate sponsors and saw community members come out to partake in food and music.

Over 500 in attendence 

“Over the course of the seven-hour event, well over 500 people came to the station's parking lot,” RVIPF said in a release.

“Many hearts and stomachs were filled with food and drinks as the Shooting Stars Steel Band, along with Sergeants Tommy Daniel and Collis Fraser entertained. Children of all ages received Christmas presents, got their faces painted and played on the bouncy castles.”

The force said the event was as part of efforts to connect with the community territory-wide and bridge the gap between police and the community through various outreach events and programmes.

The event was made possible through the support and donations of local businesses and the community at large.

    I commend the East End police for spearheading this event. However I drove by and saw no social distancing not many masks either. The area was too small. Maybe another venue can be considered gor next year. But good community spirit.
