Let me get this straight the same police that see the guns in their friends car and let them go are the same police doing stop and search. First of all I witness numerous times police went by the criminals house to warn them about the raid that they are going to do by the criminals house. This is why raids goes wrong now. I even seen people take the front of the boats and stach drugs so unless you take apart a boat you can't get caught. Drug can go in and out of here easy. Get rid of all police, customs and border control because they have been compromise

Crime should not be accepted at any time. Criminals do come out more frequently when they know people have money on them for special events. Sadly, we must live this way, but I hope we have a non-bad eventful festival.

Im glad we have that legalized cannabis act 2020 which all legislators voted for including the opposition, assented since 2021 by the good Governor. The act which allowed adults to possess 1 gram legally without applying so they don't lose their job or get a record for a dime bag during these long called for increase to stop n search for guns.

Hit a home run, in delivering for the people? The crowd is still waiting for it.

We have no direction, pure reaction after the fact of someone being killed they want to do something. It is like a blue car crash survivor never going in a blue car again. Chance are VERY low the killers will be out loitering & riding around in a car, as they know how easy it is to shoot up a car. Cmon think!

    its already happened.

One police car should have at least been positioned near the round about 24/7 knowing it is prior to festival and people who have flown in may be out late having fun along with those on vacation. Town should not be dangerous at night. The police dont have to engage they can sound the alert and fly a night vision capable drone.

Increased security to being a part of festival preparations is a no brainer this announcement seems pointless. Its like we're back in 2000s or the 1990s for this emancipation festival. Its 7, 12, 5 O! Toss the weed! Meanwhile expect the drunk driver swinging out of nanny cay haha.

maybe, just maybe, they can read your comment and just be advised accordingly, because our law enforcers really have no clue how to do this thing. All you suggested is common sense, but as simple as it is, it would be really complicated for them to do.

This place is so incompetent on so many levels that it is beyond comprehension. We less bad

In the lead up to Festival increased police presence on the roads and other public spaces should have been the centerpiece of the policing strategy. The RVIPF is more reactive than a nuclear power plant.

some might recall when we had less police and less crime

We have far more police and serious crimes on the rise

Progress is a good thing but left unregulated we have some issues

who make announcement of a stop and search?. That's very unprofessional. The police have power to stop and search without notice. our security system is becoming laughable to the world.
