EAST END, Tortola, VI- Information reaching our newsroom is that ranks of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) allegedly used pepper spray to disperse persons allegedly breaching COVID-19 protocols in East End and Long Look yesterday, July 19, 2021.

According to unconfirmed reports, some persons were also found breaching the 7:00 pm to 5:00 am curfew.

The people breaking curfew have NO real reason for being on the streets. Most of the time it’s just restlessness, and them just NOT wanting to comply. If you are not working hanging out on the streets after curfew is not going to make you any richer. Let’s not forget during curfew is when some of crimes happen. We don’t want to vaccinate, we don’t want to wear our masks properly, we don’t want to sanitize, we don’t want to follow curfew, we don’t want to stand 6 feet apart in a line, we cuss and fuss when we are asked to wait because the business we are trying to enter is at a full person capacity. Lord have mercy man! Can we be so ignorant? Is this to be our legacy as residents of this country? And then we have the heart to blame the government??? They are only 13 people, do we really think they can do it without us?? This is not time for who from here and who not from here, this damn thing is killing us!!!!! We are the grown ups, it’s time we act like it.

The sign says Peebles and until we find the $7.2million we shouldn't be naming any damn thing after the person at the centre of that mismanaged, white wash, cash delivery scam. No sah. It's Peebles till we get our money back.

Enforcement is key to recovery of our Covid situation and the people of these Virgin Islands are depending on our armed forces to do their job consistently and wisely. Thank you so much. Hopefully the enforcement action is caught on police cam and footage will be used to (1) fully prosecute the offenders and (2) vindicate the officers who may be accused of exercising excessive force. Hopefully the protected communities would stand in full support of enforcement officers when enforcement is needed.

I can offer them a free boat ride and some metal weights tied to their feet. Then drop them off in the deep ocean all tied together. The best part is, my service is free. They're no good to society.

Even better is that if they do eventually wash ashore with hands tied together, the police here will find no evidence of wrongdoing

Good job officers. Keep enforcing thr laws of the BVI and your job becomes very easy. Those guys playing dominoes during curfew has no regards for the law. If you don't want to touch any of them because of covid then take their names and prosecute via summons and ask them to leave for their homes. Most of them who are there playing the game of domino are outsider who should respect the law.

  • Lockdown is not the answer. The acceptance of 2 jabs of anti-covid-19 vax, observance is our best option. (20/07/2021, 19:51) Like (3) Dislike (2) Reply
Wise actions, and medical know how that have proven and saving lives should not be compromised to please anyone. Lockdown has no preventiom and healing power, if infected by the covid-19 virus. It do benefit some lazy civil servants financially. Obey the protocol.
