LONDON, United Kingdom- An elite United Kingdom (UK) police officer waged a campaign of terror and humiliation against women for two decades, committing 48 rapes to become one of the worst sex offenders in modern history.

PC David Carrick, an armed officer who served with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command and worked on the parliamentary estate, admitted to offences spanning 17 years and involving 12 women, although police believe there are many more victims.

According to the Independent today, January 16, 2023, the former police officer pleaded guilty to 49 offences, including 24 counts of rape, between 2003 and 2020, and will be sentenced over two days from February 6, 2023.

Carrick, 48, from Hertfordshire, used his position as a police officer to gain the trust of his victims before seeking to control, manipulate, abuse and rape them. He told his victims that it would be “their word against his” suggesting they wouldn’t be believed if they spoke up.

UK police failed to act

Metropolitan Police has admitted errors in failing to spot Carrick’s escalating danger during his 20 years of service.

And, according to The Guardian, Britain’s biggest police force was told about nine incidents from 2000 to 2021, including eight alleged attacks or clashes Carrick had with women before the arrest that led to his convictions.

No action was taken, with the women either refusing to formally complain or withdrawing their cooperation from the police investigation.

Alarm bells also failed to ring within the force, which promoted Carrick in 2009 from patrolling the streets to being a member of an elite armed unit, the parliamentary and diplomatic protection command, guarding embassies, Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament.

Public trust affected

Downing Street said the government understands that public trust in the police has been affected by cases like Pc David Carrick.

The prime minister's official spokesman said: “Certainly we're in no doubt that the public's trust has been affected by some of these high-profile cases.

One victim told officers that Carrick regularly urinated on her and forced her to drink his urine, while another victim said he whipped her with a belt and sexually assaulted her with sex toys.

Detectives emphasised that Carrick used coercive behaviour to isolate his victims and control what they wore, ate and where they slept. According to interviews and phone evidence from victims, Carrick forced his victims to clean his home naked and controlled the most minute details of their lives including how much of an apple they could eat and how long they could sleep.

Here we go again. I am sorry for the victims but what does that have to do with us? Crimes against women including human traffiking are being committed around the world daily with little or no coverage. It is time to stomp out these heinous acts as

They trying to demoralize the local police. They always poking and throwing jabs at the local cops. What they should have put in the news is how corrupt, the senior officer from domonica, who refuse to show up for court in the matter against his subordinates, where he was the master ring leader in corruption. That's what vino should have made news with, long ago.

@I, what does it have to do with us here? ASK YOUR MOTHER! So because it happens all over the world, it should not be reported around the world? This Sociopath Scum Bag of a cop should have just been given a lethal shot to end everyone’s misery. This bastard, along with others who knew and were doing the same things to get away with so many crimes goes to show you how bad the higher ups are proving the blue wall of silence is in full force. No way was this a secret! The Scum Bags just like them who get away with so much crime should all be given the lethal shot in the arm! The poor victims, men and women, should sue the hell out of the police department, because I am sure they complained and their paperwork was thrown out.

And what does have this have to do with the price of ripe bananas in "Nature's Little Secrets", which are, lamentably all out in the open right about now?
How does this affect the allegations of human trafficking leveled against present and former public officials in high places on this little rock?
It is called "gaslighting": putting up a smokescreen to try and divert attention to the real issues at hand. Some of us are bright enough to see through this ruse.

Why is this Headline News here?
Come on VINO. Tell us how the Premier will address removing the Order in Council to suspend our Constitution when he travels to the UK.

I heard him tell Zan Lewis that the matter didn’t come up in his last meeting in the UK, although he had said that it would. I personally don’t have the confidence that it will be brought up this time either. The Premier fully well knows that such a matter needs to be addressed by the Governor to the UK powers. But let’s hear what the Premier will tell us when he returns.

Unlike the VI where he would be overlooked or hidden unidentified and definitely no photo
Lame explanation would be ...No identity of perpetrator in order to protect the victim. Good job Scotland Yard ! Bvi needs your skills and diligence and seriousness .

VINO keep doing news releases of what is happening in the UK so our people can see the hypocrisy in their UK officials' criticism of the people of the BVI. Keep educating those who do not look at news in the UK so they can see their double standards and hypocritical actions to the BVI.

Not good news but good to know because from how some of these people speak of the UK it never occurred to us that there is crime of this nature there.

The current Commissioner of Police always speak as if crime of this nature and worse among other crimes only happen in the BVI and only by Caribbean expats and locals. Let us see if he makes a video of this to help their tourism industry.

To all of you who have the UK as saviors please know that crime is so bad in the UK that in certain areas when crime is committed they do not bother to report it as the police does not have the resources to deal with it. Do you know that many chief of police in the UK are crying out to these same UK officials who want to take us over through dictatorship for money and resources as their budgets are being cut and crime is now rising out of control. Corruption in the force and prison is at an all time high in the UK. Don't let them fool us. Please wake up BVI.

Time to put the name and picture of every Police recruit seeking office in the Virgin Islands. This is done effectively in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Persons who know of criminal behavior can tell the HR and prevent criminals from entering the Police force.
