BALSAM GHUT, Tortola, VI- Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) are investigating a report about one of its officers attempting to smuggle contraband into His Majesty's Prison on Friday, July 5, 2024.

As part of the investigation, a Police Constable was arrested for questioning and released pending further investigation.

The officer was immediately interdicted from duty, the RVIPF stated in a press release on July 7, 2024.

The RVIPF said it is coordinating with prison authorities to progress the investigation and that the public will be given further updates as inquiry continues.

    Feels like small wins, a gun bust here, another shooter arrested, a officer caught there. When is something big going to happen that makes life better for everyone like legalizing cannabis for recreation and medicine. Keep up with the USVI.

    Young man I am very disappointed in you. I do not understand why you allowed the fast life to entice you. You are charged with the task of being a law enforcement officer, not an officer to break the law. Do you realize what is at stake now, you stand the risk of losing your job, you are facing jail time and you are bringing shame and dishonor to your wife and your family. Shame on you. I always felt like you were to eager to climb the ladder, now you resorted to breaking the law. shame shame shame

    These new police didn't go through any vetting. A friend tells a friend to talk to a friend and that set. A man who is before the court for a serious offence is now an officer working at the traffic unit. I was shocked when I saw that

    Nothing will come out of it if he gets the right connection. .

    recall one police was on bail for assisting movement of dope in the police uniform got bail and no longer in this jurisdiction and not one word from the department of police

    nothing will come out of the matter once the said assured law enforcement officer is from outside of this territory
