ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Police are investigating a report that a couple from the cruise ship Costa Luminosa is missing, a press release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force stated.

The Port agent for the M/V Costa Luminosa stated that the ship arrived in the Virgin Islands on Wednesday last week with the two passengers who first boarded in the Dominican Republic.

After delaying their departure to await the passengers return, officials of the cruise ship left the Territory without the passengers.

Their passports, which are now in police custody, identify the two passengers as female, Elicia Garciaposo and male Aguilar Aller, both of Peru.

Police inquiries, however, suggest that the names on these passports may not be valid. No descriptions of the individuals were given.

Officials of the ship stated, after a search, that the cabin occupied by the passengers contained one neatly-packed suitcase which is unusual for passengers intending to return to the ship.

Police believe the passengers may have hired a tour bus or taxi at the time they were in the Territory and are therefore asking any person who may have seen or provided service to these individuals to contact the Road Town Police Station through the toll-free RVIPF three-digit access number 311.
