Police investigating alleged attempted rape of 17-year-old girl

- accused is said to be ‘a friend’ of teen

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Investigators of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) are said to be probing an alleged attempt of rape on a teenaged girl by a man whom she had regarded as a ‘friend’ for over a year.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, the 17-year-old girl and the male companion had spent the day “hanging” at one of the beaches on Tortola on Sunday, October 4, 2020.

Things allegedly took a twist; however, when the male- under the pretext he had to uplift something- reportedly took the teen to an area they had visited earlier in the day.

Alleged attempted rape

According to reports, the teen had messaged her boyfriend to meet her at the location and was about to exit her male companion’s vehicle when he allegedly tried to force himself on her.

The teen allegedly put up a struggle but the accused managed to pull her pants down. She; however, was able to fight the male off and make her escape.

It’s alleged that about the same time her boyfriend arrived and she ran to him.

The teen allegedly related the incident to her boyfriend and her mother and a report was subsequently made to the police.

    You did nothing wrong. It is sad that people still blame the women when we are attacked. In the end it is every persons responsibility to respect that no means No and stop.

    Seldomly man don't really keep friend with woman. May pretend but like old days put some rice in the center of a draw string and when the foul start to eat then you try pull the string to see what foul you can catch. Real talk is that she aint had no cause out in no secluded area with no other man and she have a boy friend. Young ladies when ayo going out with a man at least tell you mother or close relative where and who you going out with. Bible say trust no one.

    Some of you people in the Carribean sick as hell. She has a male friend she trusted and she went to hang with him. Whats wrong with that? I have female friends that I would never put words to and trust me I aint no punk.

    A friend of mine said yesterday and I quote " if your seen with a lesbain you are one, if your seen with a gay you are one, if yiu are seen with a male you with him, if you seen with a female you with her. You people are small minded disturb idle and sick.
