ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Police Constable Tresan Sharpe, a dynamic and dedicated professional has been coronated at the Miss Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Queen of 2024.

The coronation ceremony happened last evening, Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Wilson T. Sylvester Recreational Facility of the Road Town Police Station.

Ms Sharpe is said to embody a profound commitment to both her community and career where in addition to keeping the local community protected, she is armed with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Criminology from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.

Tresan serves as a distinguished Police Officer in the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force and is currently assigned to the Family and Juvenile Unit.

Committed to policing 

As part of her role, Tresan employs her specialized skills as an investigator, child forensic interviewer, and child abuse material grader. Her service has garnered accolades, including the Exemplary Policing Award in 2020 and the Meritorious Conduct Award in 2021, highlighting her unwavering dedication and impact in law enforcement.

Beyond her professional duties, Ms Sharpe plays a pivotal role in community engagement initiatives. She also serves as the police liaison for "Read and Play," an educational initiative in the East End community aimed at fostering literacy among children.

The RVIPF Queen also actively participates in community sports, representing the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force in track and women's football, underscoring her passion for youth development and community involvement.

Throughout her career and academic journey, Tresan has demonstrated a profound commitment to personal growth and community service with her leadership qualities are evident in her role as a member of the Executive Body of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force’s Women in Policing initiative, where she strives to promote solidarity and collaboration among female officers. 

Love for travelling 

Outside of work, Tresan said she enjoys a diverse range of hobbies, including reading, singing, cooking, and travelling. Her love for nature and physical activities like hiking, football, and netball reflect her vibrant personality and active lifestyle.

Known for her organizational prowess and advocacy for child safeguarding and mental health awareness, Ms Sharpe is also dedicated to ongoing educational pursuits, with aspirations to complete a Master’s in Criminal Justice and launch an outreach program supporting disadvantaged children.
