MEYERS ESTATE, Tortola, VI- As the Diamond Estate to Chalwell Estate Pipe Laying Project is in its final stages, motorists are being advised of road closure today, Saturday, November 15, 2025, to Sunday, November 16, 2025.

This project, which involves laying approximately 5,800 feet of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, aims to enhance water service and reliability from Diamond Estate to the Chalwell Estate/Soldier Hill Junction.

The volunteer group Operators Without Borders has been assisting with the pipe replacement and installation efforts on-site and is being managed and overseen by the Ministry of Communications and Works.

Project in home stretch

To facilitate the installation of the pipes, motorists are advised that the road will be closed on Saturday, November 15, 2025, and Sunday, November 16, 2025, between the Enis Adams Primary School (EAPS) and the Chalwell Estate entrance.

Mr Dean H. Greenaway, Communication Specialist with the Ministry of Communications and Works, urged motorists to use alternate routes.

During a Facebook live session, he stated, "Work has reached the home stretch in the Diamond Estate to Chalwell Estate Pipe Laying Project, with 5,300 feet of the 5,800 feet of pipe laid."

He explained that work on the remaining 500 feet of pipe will commence at 9:00 AM today, Saturday, November 15, 2025, and continue into the evening, resuming on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

"This work will be done in the section of the road between the entrance to Enis Adams School and the entrance to Chalwell Estate."

Use alternative routes

Greenaway also mentioned, "Motorists travelling from Ke Villas in Carrot Bay are asked to use the Ayres Falls or Soldier Hill, Brewers Bay routes into town. Those planning to use the Joe's Hill route should take the Hana Hill, Threadfall route instead."

The specific cost or budget for the Diamond Estate to Chalwell Estate Pipe Laying Project, which began on Monday, September 29, 2025, has not been publicly disclosed in the available government announcements and project updates.

1.We close this road from Meyers to Chalwell,
    2. We close the road from the well in Sea Cows Bay to The bottom of Joe's Hill/Russel Hill,
    3. We have ongoing works that slow traffic from Duffs Bottom to Road Reef, and
    4. We will close down central Road Town for an Uber Soca Cruise street party??

it's no wonder the Premier is giving civil servants a public holiday and forcing business to close. Let's all stay home until we can gain reasonable access to Road Town! Steups!

You all had 7 years, and the first progress we see is the hijacked salaries that were awarded to people who don't know what they are doing but carry on. Not to mention covid give aways and contracts. How long; not long. We just hope they don't break the bank while doing the election projects. Election hurry up come

HDPE great choice but it needs to be on a soft bed of earth or sand NO ROCKS, It will "squirm" with pressure changes, rocks will cut into it.

But we going to spend $14 million putting asphalt on the best road we have. Can we not put it on the roads that desperately need it and in Sea Cows and just patch the rest of the otherwise relatively good road.

I've heard there are no current plans to repair the road and eventually contract it out??! The next big rain will wash out all that dirt.

She is almost 65. Don't understand what the fuss and big deal about...The Police ACT needs amending to state.."No Application or applicant, or anyone will be considered for the post of Commissioner of Police upon reaching 63 yrs of age and no commissioner will retain the post after the age of 67.". .That's my suggestion...
