According to a September 24, 2025, press release, to make this possible, PHSU is exploring a potential partnership with landlords and property managers in the VI. 

Through these agreements, PHSU aims to facilitate students’ access to suitable housing while providing property owners with greater stability and mechanisms designed to reduce the risk of missed payments.

‘A mutually beneficial opportunity’ -PHSU VP

Vice President of Operations and Executive Dean of the medical school’s VI campus, Dr Jose D. Pérez, said the growth of the school’s student population makes it essential to increase the availability of suitable and accessible housing as soon as possible. 

“These partnerships represent a mutually beneficial opportunity: our students would have access to furnished housing options, while property owners could benefit from consistent and reliable demand.”

Interested landlords and property managers are being encouraged to contact the institution to explore potential agreements.

The medical school advised landlords interested in renting out their apartment building or house to email jperez@psm.edu with the following information: photographs of the property and its interior spaces, a description of the utilities included in the rent, the proposed monthly rental rate, a list of included furniture, and confirmation of whether water is supplied by a cistern or the public water system. 

The medical school welcomed its first cohort of students in July 2025 and currently operates from the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College's campus in Paraquita Bay.
